The project is for the renovation of an existing neoclassical house on a prominent corner plot in the Millhouses area of Sheffield, including rear extensions and a roof off loft conversion.

The alterations to the front were intended to enhance the symmetry of the existing façade and improve the entrance, which reused some of the existing stained glass. The upper part of the extensions to the rear were also intended to maintain the character of the existing house and it’s unusual blue render, whilst the rear extension at ground floor is intended to be a contemporary addition to complement it.

The main challenge of the project was the tight triangular shape of the rear garden, which dictated the form the extension needed to take.
